A Little Update!

Hello!
Wow, it's certainly been a while!
A lot has been happening in my world, a lot indeed. I turned eighteen, I've been on holiday, and been attempting to get myself together a little.
Soon I shall be relocating, to my own domain and a few changes will be made. It's a very exciting time for me and I have a lot I want to share on there, and writing will return to more content filled posts and I hope you'll like it!
I'll update with more information over next week!
Lots of love..

Things I Love Friday;

+ The sunshine & thunderstorms here in England.
My two favourite types of weather! Hehe!

+ My family.
We've been spending more time together recently and really beginning to get along better.

+ Making summer plans.
More on these later!

+ All the inspiring blogs I've come across recently.
I adore coming across like minded bloggers out there with ideas to change the world.

+ The second hand book shop near my house.
I could easily buy up to a hundred books in here.. and the prices are astonishingly cheap!

+ My dog.
Yes, as a rottweiler/labrador, he's pretty large and drools a lot.. but he is possibly my favourite thing in the world.

+ Making plans to enter more charity races.
So exciting and amazing to be a part of these things.

+ Feeling positive about the future.
Yey for finally gaining some clarity on these pressing matters.

That's all I have time for right now!
What's making you delirious with happiness this week?

Lots of love..

Michael Jackson

This morning, I woke up to the sad news that Michael Jackson has passed away, this really has saddened and shocked me.
Of course, my thoughts are with his family and those close to him at this time.
I think that 'you are not alone' would be my favourite song by him, as that song really got me through a lot of difficulties in the past, but it's very hard to choose just one.
I don't believe there will ever be another Michael Jackson, in this lifetime or the next. He was a genius, an excellent entertainer, fantastic dancer and of course had a fabolous voice.
At just fifty years of age, I think it's made a lot of people question their own mortality, but the facts remain that we are not infinite, we just have to make the most of all the time that we are blessed with.
Huge condolences to all those close to him at this time.. it's a very sad day for all.
Love..

Catch Up !

Oh my goodness.
First, I must apologise for the long absence. Another year of college is now officially over and I am so happy I now have the time to commit to writing again.
The majority of my time recently has been taken up with exams, interviews, having a clear out and other exciting activities, although I have of course made time for visits to the beach and to enjoy the sunshine a little (it's a rarity here in England!).

Tomorrow, I'm starting a thirty day challenge, it's a concept which I was first introduced to a year or so ago, on Steve Pavlina's blog. I think it's a good idea to try something for 30 days, it's not a huge commitment but long enough to make a change, of course, you are free to continue it if you wish to do so.

Anyway, my thirty day challenge, is to give up junk food. It's not healthy, it doesn't even make me feel good in the long run, and I think it's a positive step towards the healthier me I'm working towards.

I'll update with progress on how it goes, wish me luck !

What would you change about yourself for thirty days? :)

Lots of love..

Things I Love Thursday

Happy Friday !
It's been an incredibly busy week, with exams coming up and deadlines looming.
Yesterday I had a wonderful day with an old friend, we explored a town we'd never been to and even saw some famous people (hehe!).
So I haven't had a chance to upload my Things i Love Thursday (a la gala darling!) so I will do it now, a TiLF, if you will.

+ Longg bus journeys with the aformentioned old friend, drinking energy drinks and singing along with the iPOD, giggling none stop.

+ Learning fascinating things in my Psychology class.

+ Making inspiring and exciting plans for the summer (more on those later!).

+ Taking walks along the canal, just me and my thoughts.

+ Spending hours in the library completing projects and revising, and feeling accomplished afterwards.

+ Being inspired by all the lovely young bloggers out there.

What about you? What are you grateful for this week?

Lots of love..

Quote Of The Week
Never make your home in a place. Make a home for yourself inside your own head. You'll find what you need to furnish it - memory, friends you can trust, love of learning, and other such things. That way it will go with you wherever you journey. ~Tad Williams

My Daily Routine

photo credit to Scott Dungan
It is my belief that having a daily routine is important, be it to create structure, to give the day a sense of purpose or to simply help you get things done. Now, my daily routine is outlined below, all of these things equally important and all benefit my life in some way.
Every so often, I like to have a detox, if you will, and have an evaluation of the main aspects of my life and decide what, if anything, needs correcting a bit, and a big part of that is my daily routine, because, as obvious as it may sound, it is a big big part of my life and is a large factor in whether my days are fabolous and fill me with delight or whether my days are glum.
Mine is like this..

* Awaking.
Smile. Decide that today is going to be a wonderful day. Tell yourself this, with absolute certainty, and out loud if possible. Make your bed, open a window. Smile some more.

* Breakfast.
The most important meal of the day, I know I don’t function as well without it. Make time to enjoy it. Have something delicious. Smoothies, toast, whatever tickles your fancy, if you will.

*Getting ready.
Time is often something of a luxury in a morning, so always always try to arrange your outfit the night before. Wash, brush your teeth, put on your signature scent, style your hair. Look in the mirror. Tell yourself in all seriousness that you look beautiful.

* Walk.
Walk to the bus stop. Walk to your destination if possible, be it school or work. If you have the time, just walk. Take time to visit a local park or place of interest. Good for both body and mind and an inspiring start to the day.

* Study time.Obviously, if you are a student, you need to take time to study for your classes etc. But what if you’re up to date with your work? Or if you’re not a student at all? It’s still important to take time to learn every day, on a subject that interests you or even just something you’ve been wondering about. Read a book. Surf the internet. Enrich your knowledge. You’ll feel better for it.

* Distraction.
Be it writing, listening to music, going to the gym(ha!), painting, cooking. It’s important to set aside some time each day to participate in something that you enjoy and that focuses your thoughts and energy away from everyday life.

* Wind down.
As children, most of us were taught the importance of a routine at bed time, bath, story, sleep. Yet this seems to stop when you get past a certain age. Have a long soak in the tub, with your favourite oils and bubble bath. Make a rule of no television or internet for at least thirty minutes before bed. Put your favourite nightwear on. Have a hot drink such as herbal tea, or hot milk. Get into bed, read a book. Drift away into wonderful dreams.

So, that is a round up of my usual routine. What about yours?

Lots of love..
